ABOUT LOST IN YONKERS

Neil Simon’s Pulitzer Prize–winning play is a richly funny, deeply human comedy about family, survival, and growing up when you’re least prepared to do so. When two young brothers are sent to live with their formidable grandmother, they’re plunged into a household full of unforgettable characters: a childlike aunt, a sharp-tongued matriarch, and a mysterious uncle with ties to the mob. Simon’s trademark humor crackles throughout, delivering laugh-out-loud moments alongside unexpected tenderness. Widely regarded as Simon’s most accomplished play, Lost in Yonkers balances comedy and compassion, reminding us that even the most complicated families can shape us in surprising—and hilarious—ways.
