Carmen Ruiz is one of the richest and most powerful women in the business world. But, as the play begins, she awakens in a cell-like room that has few creature comforts and no clues about her surroundings or the reason she is there.

As Carmen, New York actor Divina Cook pulls out all the stops as her search for answers not only reveals some startling facts about herself, but also about her family and her church—and the scars they left on her.

An original full-length play by a member of Theatre Charlotte’s Playwrights in Progress.
