The Green Room Society is a
group of Theatre Charlotte’s most
dedicated volunteers and patrons.
Theatre Charlotte has been generously supported by our volunteers
and patrons for more than eight decades.
Volunteers
As with any community theatre, we are nothing without our volunteers. Our
volunteers serve as our actors, backstage crew, lighting and sound
operators, set construction crew, costume makers, ushers, concession stand
workers, and more! Theatre Charlotte is extremely fortunate to have a
dedicated group of volunteers who bring our productions to life each year.
Patrons
Contributions from our patrons are vital to the mission of Theatre
Charlotte. We receive one-fourth of our operating income from the Arts and
Science Council and one-half from ticket sales, facility rental, and
concessions. We must raise the final quarter—more than $125,000—from
corporations, foundations, and individuals. Generous donations from our
patrons have made it possible for Theatre Charlotte to continue creating
outstanding theatre opportunities for the Charlotte community.
In
order to continue making theatre relevant to the lives of the people of the
Charlotte region, in order to provide quality entertainment, and in order to
continue changing lives through theatre, we need the generous support of
both our volunteers and our patrons.
Green Room Society
Both patrons and volunteers take ownership in Theatre Charlotte because they
have invested either their time or their money in the organization. But
there is a unique group of individuals who are both patrons and volunteers.
These people have given Theatre Charlotte everything – valuable time,
priceless talents, and hard-earned cash.
Green Room Society Information
The Green Room Society is made up of a unique group of individuals who
donate not only their time and talent-but also their money to Theatre
Charlotte. Each member is both a volunteer and a patron making them a vital
lifeline for this organization.
Benefits
Green Room
Society members will receive benefits and recognition equivalent to the
patron level of their donation (please click here
for a list of the patron giving levels). To make sure that these individuals
stand out, Green Room Society members will be marked in each playbill and on
our website with a GRS emblem beside their name. Green Room Society members
will also receive special GRS only invitations and updates throughout the
year.
How to Join
Theatre Charlotte
staff is taking extra care to identify individuals who are giving both time
and money to the current season and making sure that these individuals are
recognized in our playbills. If we have left you off of this list, please
