Because of recent licensing restrictions, Theatre Charlotte’s
production of Misery is being replaced by The Woman in Black, a
spine chilling ghost story by Susan Hill. We hope that you will join
us for this classic haunted tale!
Adapted by Stephen Mallatratt from the book by Susan Hill
A spine-tingler,
this is the story of a lawyer who hires an actor to tutor him in
re-telling to family and friends a story that has long haunted him. The
story concerns the events that transpired when he attended the funeral
of an elderly recluse. There he saw the woman in black, the mere
mention of whom terrifies the locals. She is a specter who haunts the
area where her child was accidentally killed. Anyone who sees her
dies! A classic ghost story, now in its 20th year in London's West End
and one of the most popular ghost stories produced in theatres
throughout the US.
