An affectionate tribute to Smalltown, USA, this acclaimed Broadway classic follows fast-talking salesman Harold Hill as he cons the citizens of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize. His plans to skip town with the cash are spoiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen.
Randall McMurphy is a charming rogue who contrives to serve a short sentence in a mental institution rather than prison. This he learns was a mistake. He immediately clashes with the head nurse, Nurse Ratched, upsetting her routines and threatening her control. This leads to a rapidly escalating power struggle between them. McMurphy stages a revolt so the inmates can watch the World Series on television and arranges a party complete with alcohol and women. This leads to the final confrontation between McMurphy and Nurse Ratched.

Winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award. In this brilliant and powerful drama, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of an improper relationship with one of the male students. The play is set in 1964, but could not be more timely. In just 90 fast-paced minutes, Shanley creates 4 unique individuals in a passionate drama.

Stampeding elephants! Raging typhoons! Runaway trains! Unabashedly slapstick, this is the original amazing race! Join fearless adventurer Phileas Fogg and his faithful manservant, Passepartout, as they race to beat the clock. Fogg has agreed to a wager that puts his fortune and his life at risk, as he and his servant set out to circle the globe in 80 days. Danger, romance and comic surprises abound in this show as 5 actors portraying 39 characters traverse 7 continents in one of the great adventures of all time.

Six young people, in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser. This award-winning musical is a tale of overachievers’ angst chronicling the experience of 6 adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling bee championship of a lifetime. The Tony Award-winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place they can stand out and fit in at the same time.
BONUS PRODUCTIONS

Theatre Charlotte’s holiday tradition is back for the 5th consecutive year. This version captures the magic and mystique of the Dickens original. At the opening, Charles Dickens is presenting a reading of his popular "A Christmas Carol." As he begins the story unfolds on stage around him: the classic tale of hard-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge who is visited by the ghost of his late partner Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. These spirits gradually warm old Scrooge’s heart, as well as ours.

Ungar and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon’s contemporary comedy classic. Instead of the poker party, the ladies gather for Trivial Pursuit in Olive’s messy apartment. Late to arrive is the meticulous Florence Unger, just separated from her husband. As life would have it, the slob Olive and the clean freak Florence decide to live with hilarious results.
